Pedro Nuno Santos was born in São João da Madeira, Aveiro, in 1977.
He graduated in Economics from ISEG-UTL, an institution in which he was chairman of the Board of RGA and member of the Senate of the Technical University of Lisbon.
In 2001 he worked at CISEP – Center for Studies on Portuguese Economics, in the area of health economics, under the guidance of Professor Gouveia Pinto.
After completing his degree in Economics, he joins the family business group, Grupo Tecmacal, SA., a group of service companies and the commercialization and development of industrial equipment, headquartered in S. João da Madeira.
He was General Secretary of Socialist Youth between 2004 and 2008.
He was president of the PS Aveiro Federation between 2010 and 2018.
He performed the functions of deputy in the X and XII Legislatures. He was vice-president of the PS Parliamentary Group and coordinator of PS deputies in the Economy Commission and in the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission into the BES case.
He was Secretary of State for Parliamentary Affairs in the XXI Government from November 2015 to February 2019. In this capacity, in addition to the link between the Government and Parliament, he ensures the interconnection between the Executive and the Parliamentary Groups that guarantee the majority over which the Government supports itself.
Minister of Infrastructure and Housing in the XXI Government since February 2019, where he monitors infrastructure policies in the areas of construction, real estate, transport and communications, including the regulation of public contracts, as well as housing and rehabilitation policies urban.
