Mikel Lorente has studied Industrial/Mechanical Engineering at the University of Navarra in Spain and holds a MBA. He has 21 years of working experience in the automotive sector. He worked as a product and manufacturing engineer for 8 years in Dana Corporation leading multidisciplinary teams. As a product engineer he supported new product development in the US and Western-Eastern Europe including steering and drive axles covering design, modelling,
testing and validation, and product industrialization. He also led six sigma projects at manufacturing plants as a six sigma black belt engineer.
For the last 13 years he has been the Chief Technology Officer of ACICAE, the Automotive Cluster of the Basque Country and AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center. He is responsible for designing and implementing the Strategic Technological Agendas of both organizations as well as promoting collaborative projects with strategic partners in Research, Development and Innovation. He actively participates in collaboration with Universities in training programs, sharing his knowledge and passion for the automotive sector.
