As head of product management for Qualcomm’s Smart Cities initiatives, Tipirneni helps product partners, enterprises, and cities build and execute turnkey IoT, ML/AI strategies that help improve livability and sustainability for its citizens. This includes developing system architectures, product designs, and end-to-end services with insight into Qualcomm Technologies’ product, software, and IOT services portfolio. He is also responsible for technology vision, strategy, and leadership for the development and implementation of enterprise-wide IoT programs, initiatives, and investments in smart enterprises.
He has been working at Qualcomm since 1998 and held positions in product management, business development, and systems engineering. He is currently focused on end-to-end IOT services and platform development across various segments including smart infrastructure, smart manufacturing, and smart asset management. Tipirneni led the technology partnerships and commercial launches of connected car platforms and multiple mobile device launches globally. His work showcasing smart city technologies and their impact on workers has been quoted by world-renowned author and three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Thomas Friedman in his book “Thank you for being late.”
Tipirneni holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Rady School of Management, University of California, San Diego
