Ed Niedermeyer fell into the world of cars and mobility after leaving the University of Oregon in 2008, when he found work as a freelance blogger at The Truth About Cars. Primarily covering the collapse, bailout and recovery of the Detroit automakers, he moved up the ranks to become the site’s Managing Editor and then Editor-in-Chief. He went on to work as an independent research and analysis consultant while contributing to BloombergView, The Daily Beast, the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and other outlets, gradually shifting focus from the traditional auto industry toward the emerging world of new mobility technology. In 2016 this growing interest blossomed into The Autonocast, which has gone on to become one of the most-followed podcasts on autonomous drive and other mobility technologies. He is currently Senior Editor for Mobility Technology at The Drive and the author of the recently published book “Ludicrous: The Unvarnished Story of Tesla Motors”.
